Thanks for stopping by! We're Kellie and Lisa, friends who met while working at The Upper Crust years ago. We quickly bonded over our love of baking and all things pie, so when the opportunity came up to purchase the pie biz in 2024, we said "heck yes!" We are proud to be from the Midwest and believe in the power of connecting with people over food, especially pie.
This sweet little shop got its start at the Overland Park Farmer's Market in 2005 by sisters Jan Knobel and Elaine Van Buskirk with the mission of making pie "as good as grandma's." The business grew out of the market and into an official bakery space at Pryde's later in 2005. In 2011, Upper Crust also opened a location in the current downtown Overland Park space on Santa Fe Drive. We bid farewell to Pryde's in 2015 and focused on slingin' pie in downtown Overland Park since then.
We are beyond grateful for the support from our dear pie community. You are what keeps this little shop rockin', and for that, we couldn't be more thankful. Our commitment to bringing you the best from-scratch pie - "as good as grandma's" - remains steadfast.
